Today’s announcement was made by CBC and CARAS (Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences). The event is taking place at Budweiser Gardens and is airing live across Canada on CBC, CBC Radio as well as worldwide on CBCMusic.ca/junos on Sunday, March 17 at 8 pm E.T.

At the forefront of the announcements, London’s very own Loud Luxury are performing at the 2019 JUNOS.

Andrew Fedyk and Joe De Pace comprise the club duo, Loud Luxury. Both are Western Alumni and have climbed the ranks to international status as a group. Their track, “Body (featuring Brando)”, has over 81 million YouTube views since October last year and is 7 times platinum. Their current single, “Love No More (featuring Anders)“, is already certified Gold in Canada after only two months.

But wait – there’s more. Upwards of 100 performers are playing at over a dozen participating local venues between March 15 and 16.

JUNO Cup exhibition game

Music meets sports March 15 at Western Fair District Sports Centre where Canadian musicians, led by Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo, will compete against a roster of NHL Alumni in an exhibition game. This event alone has raised over $1 million in its 16 years.

For those looking to spectate, tickets are $20 (plus fees) or $15 when purchasing 10 or more tickets (more details below).

JUNOS & MusiCounts supporting musical education

Allan Reid, President and CEO of CARAS/The JUNO Awards and MusiCounts, made an incredible announcement. The $1 surcharge for tickets has already raised $100,000 for MusiCounts. MusiCounts is a national charity organization providing music equipment and education to children across Canada. $5000 is the approximate cost to have musical instruments in each school.

“That’s enough to fund music programs at 20 schools,” said Reid. “No city has ever done this.”
