LDN_REVERB Flidais raise the stakes high with new video single

Glue your eyes to your screens and turn that system up! London tech-prog metal beasts, Flidais, are back with their second video single, “High Stakes”!

“WhooooOOOOOooooOOOOaaaa – OW!!!”

YES – the boys are back, and they’re bringing a visual pulse to a fan favourite – “High Stakes”! Jeremy Tredenick, of JReel Visuals, breathes fiery new life into what is already an incredibly powerful track handled by the talented Michael Marucci of Sonic Zen Studios. In all actuality, the quality and narrative of the video fit the edge and sound of the track flawlessly. Subjectively speaking, it really sets a bar for what indie music video and filmmakers can and should aspire towards in terms of imagination, creativity and execution. The visual is colourful, dynamic and wildly entertaining! The track itself is tight, technical and intense – the recipe in which Flidais thrives!

In the opening sequence…

The band happens across a mysterious mirror-esque artifact – or is it? Before long, the adventure breaks way when bassist, Calvin Warren, reaches to see what’s beyond his reflection. All of a sudden, he takes a leap through the looking glass! Guitarist, Josh Tredenick, and drummer, Ryley Swatman, quickly follow their bandmate to see what’s on the other side!

From there, the band is thrust into a wild world constructed of abstract and surreal imagery. You could say it shares a resemblance of what you’d get if you threw any given M.C. Escher piece togethether with Edgar Allan Poe’s The Pit And The Pendulum – it’s trippy! Afterwards, things get kinda Super Mario as the band platforms over oblivion, dodges a giant swinging blade and narrowly escapes a deadly spiked wall while racing to find their way out!

Do they make it? Are they forever trapped in a world where there’s no room for mistakes when the stakes are high?! I guess you’ll have to watch the video to find out! To dispense with the suspense, click here to watch it!

If this video left you wanting more, fret not (unless you play guitar). There’s word that they’ll be releasing a brand new track at some point in the not-too-distant future! Be sure to follow them on social media and their Bandcamp page for more!
